ALKHIDMAT WINTER RELIEF ACTIVITIES

During the beginning of the new year, the winter wave that begins in early December becomes severe. The temperature of northern Pakistan, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan drops to -15 degrees and even lower. Cities get covered with white snow. Water reservoirs get icy and cold wind blows.

Rich enjoy, whereas the poor beg to breathe. In such terrible circumstances, Alkhidmat gives winter relief to them. Let's discuss this in detail.

What are the problem locals are facing?

The biggest issue of the locals is they are poor and unable to buy the stuff necessary to survive. Since the temperature drops too low, the ordinary fabric is not enough. Warm, thick clothes specially made for this frosty season are required to wear to avoid frostbite and other conditions.

Other than clothes, one of the biggest problems is road blockage due to snow. Vehicles carrying food, medicines and other goods need help to enter the cities. The roads are covered with snow which later converts into ice, assisting accidents and putting many lives at risk.

How does Alkhidmat help locals in winter?

Keeping in mind all the daily necessities in challenging winter weather, Alkhidmat provides various items to the locals, enabling them to survive on the chilling days and nights of the deadly cold climate.

Alkhidmat volunteers are distributing winter packs:

Most local Pakistanis need thick winter clothes and sheets to cover themselves up. They also can not buy food to warm up their bodies. Alkhidmat foundation designed a winter pack that contains some winter essentials to help them.

Following is the list of the goods included in winter packs that Alkhidmat volunteers are distributing;

  • Warm clothes ( sweaters, jackets, socks, gloves and scarfs)
  • Blankets, quilts and comforters
  • Food

Alkhidmat volunteers are cleaning snow from the roads:

The blocked roads create hurdles in helping locals. Alkhidmat's trucks and wagons filled with winter relief goods and other vehicles needed help reaching the residents. Our brave volunteers did not wait for support from the government and started to clean the roads using heavy machinery.

Alkhidmat volunteers are working in which areas?

We have a team of fearless volunteers ready to go anywhere in Pakistan to help the victims. The severe temperature has summoned the whole country. Without any fear of losing lives, Alkhidmat volunteers are reaching the most neglected and poor areas of our beloved motherland.

Our volunteers are serving the people of the following regions;

  • Northern areas (Swat and nearby areas)
  • Gilgit Baltistan
  • Remote villages of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  • Balochistan (Chaman, Quetta and the nearby areas)
  • Various cities of Sindh (Tando Adam)

Our work is not limited to these areas only. Instead, the hyperactive management of Alkhidmat keeps a sharp eye on the country and is all ready to help them.

What does Alkhidmat want from you?

Alkhidmat foundation distributes blankets, warm clothes, food, medicines and much other stuff to needy Pakistanis free. We don't charge a single rupee from them. However, we buy these things with money.

To keep the buying and distributing cycle persistent and in full flow, We need your help.

We will buy winter pack stuff from your donations which can do the following wonders;

  • A warm sweater bought from your 100 pkr can comfort a crying infant.
  • A cosy blanket can give a ray of hope to an old uncle lying on the pavement.
  • A warm shawl can make a poor maid happy.
  • Gloves and socks can make helpless kids smile.
